Fola Orebiyi 20/02/1999 – 3/07/2016

Fola Orebiyi enrolled at Chelsea Academy Sixth Form in September 2015 to study Maths, Psychology, Business and Media. A naturally bright student, he looked forward to completing his studies in order to pursue a career in business, accounting or marketing. He had just completed his AS examinations and expected to do well. Fola had recently started to attend University open days in preparation for the next adventure in his life.

Fola was a popular member of Lister House. His quick wit provided a constant source of entertainment to students and teachers alike. Usually Fola could be found in Food For Thought (our canteen area) surrounded by a group of friends discussing the latest football results. His passion for football saw him representing our Under 18 Football Team in the Inner London School’s Cup. Playing left back, his excellent defending helped the team reach the quarter-finals.

Although Fola will be remembered for his outgoing, exuberant personality he was also a quietly hardworking and supportive member of our community; one student in particular recalls Fola supporting her with her GCSE Maths revision in the lead up to her resit examination.

Mr Matt Williams, Principal of Chelsea Academy said that ‘Fola was a valued member of the Academy community. He always had a smile on his face and brought joy to all who encountered him. We will miss him greatly.’
