Message from Assistant Principal for Sixth Form, Jo Holgate

We are an Outstanding Academy with A level progress results that put us in the top 10% of schools nationally. We place great emphasis on support for the individual at the Academy. Our House system, plus mixed Yr 12 and 13 coaching groups allows us to provide a greater level of personal support than some sixth forms. We also look for students that are prepared to commit to hard work, with no excuses and who share the Academy’s Christian values of joy, charity, perseverance, forgiveness and servant leadership.

At Chelsea Academy Sixth Form, students are well-provided for with a separate private study area, on-site careers advisor, mentor opportunities, weekly lectures with external guests, and a varied enrichment programme which currently includes exclusive access to our sports facilities on Wednesday afternoons. We run an extensive super curricular programme including a fully funded trip to Canada, you can read more about this in our Sixth Form Update.

My colleagues and I are very proud of what our students achieve and do everything we can to ensure that their hard work and commitment allows each one to make the best of themselves. We are delighted with our 2019 examination results, achieving 56% A*-B and 99% A*-E at A level, with students going on to study Modern & Medieval Languages, and Architecture at Cambridge, Engineering at Oxford, Computer Science at Imperial College, Medicine at Leeds University, 35% of students securing a place at a Russell Group university, and many other top institutions, as well gaining prestigious apprenticeships.

Welcome to Chelsea Academy Sixth Form, we look forward to meeting you in person.

Jo Holgate, Assistant Principal Post 16

Our A Level offer and entrance requirements...
There is a wide range of A level courses available in the Sixth Form. All students are expected to study four AS levels in Year 12 and three A levels in Year 13.Upon application to the Sixth Form each student who meets the Academy’s entry criteria will be invited for a guidance interview, where they will have the opportunity to discuss their course choices. It is imperative that students choose courses that are suitable for them and their interests. More information about all of the A level courses and their entry requirements can be found in the course information booklet. Students are advised to read this very carefully before making their course selections.
